Read more2025 Disneyland Event and Crowd Calendar
There are a lot of things to consider when you are planning a trip to Disneyland like time of year, special events, school and work schedules, weather, and more. And with the way the parks have been lately, there really aren’t down times anymore at Disneyland, you will likely never be able to just walk onto rides in a fairly empty park. But with that being said, we can get an idea of what to expect in terms of crowds by looking at previous years crowd patterns, off season times, major events, special ticket deals, and more to find the best time to visit.
So to make your life easier, I have created a calendar to help you more easily decide when to visit the parks! Not only have I given my estimate of what the crowds will look like (based on previous years trends, this does not guarantee full accuracy as that isn’t possible) but I have also taken into consideration special ticket deals and ticket tier pricing and have also included all of the major celebrations, events, and after hours parties that will be happening in the parks so you can see what is going on during the year.
Be aware, not all of the events in the parks are on this calendar yet as dates for things like the CHOC Walk in the Park have not been announced yet, but as those become available I will update the calendars. Another thing to keep in mind is that during the “off season” (January-mid May) you can expect to see shorter park hours, more attractions being closed for refurbishment, and sometimes less entertainment options, while during times like the Holidays and Halloween, park hours may be longer and the park may have more to offer in terms of entertainment as well a fewer ride closures, but that also usually means higher crowds, so just keep that in mind when you are planning when you want to visit.
Read more$50 Kids Tickets Deal at the Disneyland Resort
If you didn’t hear the news, Disneyland recently raised their ticket prices. And if you are visiting with your family, that can get very expensive! But luckily, Disneyland has released a new spring $50 kids ticket deal that you can take advantage of. So let’s get into what you can expect with this new ticket deal:
Spring $50 Ticket Deal Details

• Who does this deal apply to? All child tickets, so kids ages 3-9. Any kids 10 years or older do not count in this and are considered an adult when it comes to pricing. Also important to note, all children 2 and under do NOT need a ticket at Disneyland and they are free to enter the parks.
• When and where can I purchase these tickets? The $50 kids ticket spring deal will be available starting October 22, 2024. I recommend purchasing with my travel partner Get Away Today who has been helping families book Disney vacations for over 30 years!
• When can I use these tickets? This ticket deal is valid for travel January 7, 2025 through March 20, 2025. Travel outside of those dates will not qualify for this deal.
• What ticket options does this include? This deal applies to 1, 2, and 3 day tickets, single park per day or park hopper tickets, with the option to add lightning lane multipass or not. There is so much flexibility with these tickets so you can have the exact vacation you are hoping for!
• Can I purchase additional tickets that are not children’s tickets at the same time? Yes you can! Even if you book additional adult tickets or even an entire package that includes a hotel stay, it will not impact the children’s ticket deal. It will be applied no matter what else you purchase.
• The tickets I’m looking at are more expensive than $50 per day. What did I do wrong? These tickets start at $50 per day, but if you add park hopper or lightning lane multipass to your tickets, that will increase the daily price of the ticket. If you are wanting to stick to the low end, you will want to do single park per day tickets with no lightning lane added on to them.
• Is there any other way to save money on vacation that I can combine with this ticket deal? Yes! My travel partners Get Away Today have a huge variety of hotels near Disneyland to choose from, many of them have great perks like complimentary breakfast, free parking, extra nights free, and reduced rates. You can also book rooms at select Disneyland Resort Hotels for travel over the same dates at up to 25% off regular rates. And if you purchase a package that includes a 2+ day ticket/2+ night hotel stay you can use code RAMBLING10 to save additional money off of your package.

Now that we’ve covered the basics, all that’s left to do is to get your tickets and book that trip! You can purchase your tickets or book a vacation package here with my travel partner Get Away Today. If you don’t feel confident in booking it yourself and want some additional help, you can give them a call at 855-GET-AWAY and tell them The Rambling Introvert sent you and they’ll hook you up with these prices and all the discounts for following along with me!

Read moreDisneyland Resort ticket prices as well as lightning lane multipass and magic keys prices have been increased effective today!
It’s never fun to see prices increase at Disneyland, but it’s inevitable that it will happen every year. And today is that day. Overnight, it was announced that ticket prices of all types will be increasing in price as well as the daily price for lightning lanes. This price increase will also impact the prices of magic keys when they go on sale again.
But before we get into these price increases, you can still lock in the previous ticket prices for a limited time! My travel partners at Get Away Today have inventory at the lower prices that you can take advantage of but once it’s gone, it’s gone! You can get tickets at the lower price here or you can call them at 855-GET-AWAY and tell them The Rambling Introvert sent you to get your hands on these discounted tickets. These tickets are valid for travel anytime in 2025 so if you’re planning on visiting the parks next year, do not wait because these tickets will go fast! You have until October 21, 2024 to lock in these savings!

Now let’s get into what these price increases look like.
Single Day, One Park Per Day Tickets
All single day ticket prices are increasing with the exception of the lowest, tier 0 ticket option. Here are the new prices:
- Tier 0 – $104 (no change), kids tickets $98 (no increase)
- Tier 1 – $126 ($7 increase), kids $116 ($4 increase)
- Tier 2 – $142 ($8 increase), kids $132 ($5 increase)
- Tier 3 – $164 ($10 increase), kids $154 ($8 increase)
- Tier 4 – $180 ($11 increase), kids $170 ($10 increase)
- Tier 5 – $196 ($12 increase), kids $186 ($12 increase)
- Tier 6 – $206 ($12 increase), kids $196 ($13 increase)
Single Day, Park Hopper Tickets
If you want to add park hoppers to your tickets, that starts at an additional $65 per ticket. As with the single day tickets, park hoppers are all increasing with the exception of the single day option. Here are the new prices:
- Tier 0 – $169 (no change), kids tickets $163 (no increase)
- Tier 1 – $191 ($7 increase), kids $181 ($4 increase)
- Tier 2 – $207 ($8 increase), kids $197 ($5 increase)

- Tier 5 – $271 ($22 increase), kids $261 ($22 increase)
- Tier 6 – $281 ($22 increase), kids $271 ($23 increase)
Multi-Day, One Park Per Day Tickets
If you’re planning to visit for more than one day, multi-day tickets are also seeing an increase. Here are the prices you can expect to pay now:
- 2 day, one park- $330 ($20 increase), kids $310 ($20 increase)
- 3 day, one park- $415 ($25 increase), kids $390 ($25 increase)
- 4 day, one park- $474 ($29 increase), kids $444 ($24 increase)
- 5 day, one park- $511 ($31 increase), kids $476 ($26 increase)
Multi-Day, Park Hopper Tickets
- 2 day, park hopper- $415 ($40 increase), kids $395 ($40 increase)
- 3 day, park hopper- $505 ($45 increase), kids $480 ($45 increase)
- 4 day, park hopper- $569 ($54 increase), kids $539 ($49 increase)
- 5 day, park hopper- $616 ($61 increase), kids $581 ($56 increase)
Lightning Lane Multipass
In addition to ticket prices increasing, the price of lighting lane multipass price has also increased to $32. This is a $2 increase from the previous price of $30. This new $32 base price is the lowest price you can get on lightning lane multipass and it is subject to a price increase based on demand. The best way to lock in the lowest price on lightning lane multipass is to add it to your tickets, which you can do here. As far as individual lightning lanes for rides like Rise of the Resistance and Radiator Springs Racers, those must be purchased separately once you are in the parks and those prices will vary by date and demand.
Magic Key Price Increases
Even Magic Keys are not safe from this latest price increase. All four levels of keys have had their prices raised, here’s what that looks like now:
- Imagine Key now $599 ($100 increase)
- Enchant Key now $974 ($125 increase)
- Believe Key now $1374 ($125 increase)
- Inspire Key now $1749 ($100 increase)
All of the perks, benefits, blackout dates, etc. will remain the same for all Magic Keys.
Parking Costs
For now, parking costs look to remain the same. Here is the pricing for parking at the Disneyland Resort:
- General Parking $35
- Preferred Parking $55
- Hotel Valet Parking $70
- Hotel Guest Self Park $40
- Non-hotel Guest Self Park $40 for the first hour then $10 for each additional hour ($80 max)
Remember, these price increases are effective immediately, but you don’t have to pay full price! You can get your tickets at the previous pricing through my travel partners at Get Away Today. You can get those discounted tickets here until October 21!

Before we get into all the details about Oogie Boogie Bash, if you’re hoping to visit the parks you need to book your trip with my travel partner Get Away Today. They will always get you the best prices possible on tickets and hotels as well as the best customer service to make sure your trip is absolute perfect. You can book your ticket/hotel package, purchase tickets, or find low rates on hotels at Get Away Today’s website or by calling 1-855-GET-AWAY. You can find more information about visiting Disneyland during Halloween Time here.

Now, let’s get into everything you can expect, what’s included, and everything you need to know about this popular after hours event!

What is Oogie Boogie Bash?
So you’ve probably heard of this party before, but what exactly is it? Oogie Boogie is Disneyland’s big Halloween party that takes place on select nights in September and October. This is a separate ticket event that happens in California Adventure beginning at 6 pm and running until 11 pm, but entry is allowed starting at 3 pm with valid Oogie Boogie tickets. Because you are able to get into California Adventure a few hours before the event, I would recommend doing Oogie Boogie on a day you are not already planning on visiting the parks. I would suggest doing this the day you arrive or doing it on a day you don’t have theme park reservations to maximize your time in the parks while still saving you money.
Oogie Boogie Bash is a limited capacity event so you can enjoy shorter wait times and a more open park during the event. Tickets must be purchased separately as they are not included with your general theme park admission. I will talk dates, prices, and ticket sales dates a little bit later, but just make sure you get those Oogie Boogie tickets purchased separately if you are wanting to attend. If you are not planning to attend this event, I would recommend getting a park hopper pass for the days this event is happening or make your reservations for Disneyland that day where you can still experience lots of fun Halloween Time offerings because all guests not attending Oogie Boogie Bash will be kicked out of California Adventure at 6 PM on event nights.
When you arrive at the gates to enter the park, you will be given a wrist band, a trick or treat bag, and an event map with everything you need to know. If you are already in California Adventure before 3 PM, you don’t have to go all the way back to the entrance to get your wrist band and goodies, you can head over by the entrance of Avenger’s Campus by Grizzly Falls and scan into the event and get everything you need.
What is included?
This family friendly event has food and beverage offerings, treat trails, dance parties, shows and entertainment, photo ops, shorter wait times for attractions, spooky decor, rare character sightings, and more! Costumes are encouraged, so make sure you pack your best Halloween looks, just make sure you follow the costume guidelines.
You will also receive all Photo Pass photos taken during the event, which is included in your event ticket. Take advantage of all of the photo ops and photo pass photographers throughout the park and download all of the photos captured during the event, free of charge! You can download these photos as many times as you’d like for up to 45 days after they are taken.

Treat Trails
This is trick-or-treating at a new level. Each treat trail is themed to fit the villain that will greet you at the end. There are classic villains as well as new villains along these trails and of course, you will leave the treat trails with a bag full of delicious candy. You will be given a trick-or-treat bag when you arrive at the event, but they aren’t big enough for all the candy you will collect, so you will want to bring a large empty bag or backpack to put all your goodies in as cast members will put the candy directly in your bag.
Here are the treat trails and locations for the 2024 Oogie Boogie Bash:
- Ernesto de la Cruz at the Hyperion Theater Courtyard (next to Guardians)
- Judge Doom at Grizzly Peak Airfield (near Soarin’)
- Sid on Pixar Pier (next to Bing Bong’s)
- NEW! DR. Doofenshmirtz at the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land (between Carthay Circle and Off the Page)
- NEW! Hades at the Hollywood Backlot Stage (by Monsters Inc.)
- Oogie Boogie in the Animation Building (in Hollywood Land)
- Madame Mim at the Bountiful Valley Hideaway (between Carthay Circle and Avenger’s Campus)
- Agatha Harkness in the Ancient Sanctum (in Avenger’s Campus)
- okai from Big Hero Six in San Fransokyo Square
- Non immersive (no villains, just treats) treat trails in Paradise Gardens Park (World of Color viewing are), Cars (by Radiator Springs Racers) and on Buena Vista Street
Villains Grove
The highlight of Oogie Boogie has to be Villain’s Grove. Redwood Creek is transformed to transport you into the realm of your favorite villains. This fully immerse experience will open as soon as night falls, usually around 7:30ish. This is a very popular experience so the line may get long, but it does tend to move quickly This area comes alive with lights, sounds, and special effects to resemble the worlds of:
- Frollo’s Sanctuary – Head into an otherworldly cathedral of trees infused with incense smells and chanting voices.
- Maleficent’s Will – Roam through a region replete with eerie ravens, thorn-spiked vines and a seemingly spellbound waterfall of cascading color!
- Queen of Hearts Garden – Wander ‘round a charming garden of roses that paint themselves red right before your eyes!
- Scar’s Elephant Graveyard – Descend into a vast expanse that echoes with hyena laughter!
- Dr. Facilier’s Friends on the Other Side – Summoned by the great beyond, shadowy hands and colorful spells lure Guests deeper into the grove’s darkest corners.
- The Wicked Queen’s Lightning Forest – See the forest come alive as an electrifying storm flashes from branch to branch.
- Home of the Wisps – Watch these winged caretakers guide Guests to safety amid a magical bastion of endless light.
- Dawn – Escape in the nick of time as flickering lanterns lead the way toward a brilliant sunrise and the conclusion of this mythical trip!

Frightfully Fun Parade
This parade exclusively for Oogie Boogie Bash is a fan favorite! See the Headless Horseman, your favorite characters dressed in their Halloween Costumes, beloved characters from Nightmare Before Christmas, the Hitchhiking Ghosts, and of course, all the Disney villains! Because crowds are low, you don’t need to stake out seats super early, but you should try to grab a spot about 20-30 minutes before the parade starts. The route begins in Paradise Gardens near Goofy’s Sky School and ends over in Hollywood Land by the Hyperion Theater. From start to finish, it’s about a 30-40 minute parade. There are two different parade showings, usually at 7:50 and 10:05 so decide which of the shows you’d rather attend.

If you want reserved seating for the Frightfully Fun Parade, check out the Oogie Boogie Dessert Party where you can enjoy treats and beverages while watching the parade from a table. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance and are only available two times per night. The cost is $89 per guest and is paid at the time of booking.

Character Meet and Greets
You fill find all sorts of characters throughout the park during this event. There were a few photo ops last year in 2023 as well as some non character photo ops as well including:
- Bruno from Encanto at the Grizzly Peak Water Wheel
- Various pixar characters on Pixar Pier
- Kingdom Hearts Mickey & Friends in the World of Color viewing area
- Radiator Springs residents in Cars Land
- Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle as the Sanderson Sisters in Hollywood Land
- Various rare characters come and go at the Buena Vista Street fountain in front of Carthay Circle like the Captain Hook, Hans from Frozen, Pain & Panic from Hercules, and more!
Costumes
Guests are allowed, and even encouraged, to wear their best Halloween costumes to Oogie Boogie Bash. Whether your costume is simple or elaborate, this is the only chance you have as an adult to dress up in your Halloween best! While costumes are encouraged, there are a few rules you need to abide by. Here are the guidelines laid out by Disney about costumes during the event:
“Disney reserves the right to deny admission or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests. All Guests may dress as their favorite character during the event, but must follow these guidelines as determined solely by Disney:
- All Guests may dress as their favorite character, but may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
- Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent.
- Costumes may not contain any items that resemble (or could easily be mistaken for) an actual weapon.
- Costumes may not contain sharp/pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
- Layered costumes or costume props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged and may be subject to additional security screening.
- Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground (e.g., full-length Princess dresses).
For Guests Ages 13 and Younger
- Costumes and some costume masks may be worn as long as the entire face isn’t covered and eyes are visible.
- Face coverings may be required; please see the current policy regarding face coverings.
For Guests Ages 14 and Older
- Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist.
- Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts and hats are permitted.
- Acceptable accessories include transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords and tutus.
- Headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
- Costume masks of any kind may not be worn.
- Face coverings may be required; please see the current policy regarding face coverings.”

A few tips to make your event easier
- Link your Oogie Boogie ticket to your Disneyland account before arrival to speed up the process
- Arrive at California Adventure prior to the event for “mix-in” time which starts at 3 pm so you are in line and ready to go when the gates open to event guests
- Try to ride all the rides you want during the mix-in period before the event starts, or wait until later in the evening after you’ve experienced everything else you want to do
- Prioritize the special offerings the event has to offer like shows, treat trails, Villains Grove, and things like that over rides. Rides can be done another day, but you only have one shot to experience everything Oogie Boogie Bash has to offer.
- Grab something to eat around 5 before the event starts so you have plenty of room for the event exclusive treats they have to offer
- You can get into lines before the event starts, so take advantage of that to reduce your wait times right off the bat. Meet and greets and photo ops are the best place to get in line early because their lines do not move quickly.
- Sometimes when you go down a treat trail the villain may not be there. If they’re taking a break, just swing back around later to try to catch them.
- Villains Grove is the best in complete darkness, so wait until later in the evening to do this, the best time is at the very end of the night when crowds start to die down.
- Pay attention to wait times before you hop in line, you don’t want to start your event waiting in line for 90 minutes for one experience
- Wear weather appropriate costumes. September and even October can still be really hot at Disneyland so dress in smart and regardless of what costume you are wearing, prioritize wearing comfortable shoes
