Read moreThere are a lot of things to consider when you are planning a trip to Disneyland like time of year, special events, school and work schedules, weather, and more. And with the way the parks have been lately, there really aren’t down times anymore at Disneyland, you will likely never be able to just walk onto rides in a fairly empty park. And to be honest, crowd calendars are not as accurate as they used to be anymore.
I think a better indication of what crowds will look like in the parks is ticket prices, special ticket deals, and events happening in the parks or in the Anaheim area. So to make your planning a little easier, I have created this Disneyland event calendar which I have listed all of the single day park ticket prices for each day, indicated all the special priced tickets available, and have also included all of the major celebrations, events, and after hours parties that will be happening in the parks so you can see what is going on during the year. ***As of now, we can only see the ticket tiers and pricing through June, so July-December are currently not color coded. As those dates become available, I will update those months as the year goes along.
Something to keep in mind is that during the “off season” (January-mid May) you can expect to see shorter park hours, more attractions being closed for refurbishment, and sometimes less entertainment options, while during times like the summer, the Holidays and Halloween, park hours may be longer and the park may have more to offer in terms of entertainment as well a fewer ride closures, but that also usually means higher crowds, so just keep that in mind when you are planning when you want to visit.
Also keep in mind, the colors shown on the calendars below are the prices for single day, one park per day tickets only. Park hopper tickets and multi day tickets do not apply to the colors shown as they will be higher or do not work on the tiered ticket system. The tier ticket system works for single day tickets and have to be used on a tier date equal to or lesser than the tier purchased. For example, if you are planning to go on a tier 3 date but have to change your plans, you can reschedule your visit for anytime in 2026 that is a tier 3 ticket date, or any ticket date of lesser value (tier 0-2). Lower tier ticket days tend to be busier than higher tier ticket days lately because they’re more affordable, and cheaper tickets like $50 kids tickets and the California Resident ticket deal will also likely increase the business of the park at times. Read moreIf you didn’t hear the news, Disneyland recently raised their ticket prices. And if you are visiting with your family, that can get very expensive! But luckily, Disneyland has released a new spring $50 kids ticket deal that you can take advantage of. So let’s get into what you can expect with this new ticket deal:
• Who does this deal apply to? All child tickets, so kids ages 3-9. Any kids 10 years or older do not count in this and are considered an adult when it comes to pricing. Also important to note, all children 2 and under do NOT need a ticket at Disneyland and they are free to enter the parks.
• When and where can I purchase these tickets? The $50 kids ticket spring deal will be available starting October 22, 2024. I recommend purchasing with my travel partner Get Away Today who has been helping families book Disney vacations for over 30 years!
• When can I use these tickets? This ticket deal is valid for travel January 7, 2025 through March 20, 2025. Travel outside of those dates will not qualify for this deal.
• What ticket options does this include? This deal applies to 1, 2, and 3 day tickets, single park per day or park hopper tickets, with the option to add lightning lane multipass or not. There is so much flexibility with these tickets so you can have the exact vacation you are hoping for!
• Can I purchase additional tickets that are not children’s tickets at the same time? Yes you can! Even if you book additional adult tickets or even an entire package that includes a hotel stay, it will not impact the children’s ticket deal. It will be applied no matter what else you purchase.
• The tickets I’m looking at are more expensive than $50 per day. What did I do wrong? These tickets start at $50 per day, but if you add park hopper or lightning lane multipass to your tickets, that will increase the daily price of the ticket. If you are wanting to stick to the low end, you will want to do single park per day tickets with no lightning lane added on to them.
• Is there any other way to save money on vacation that I can combine with this ticket deal? Yes! Overnight, it was announced that ticket prices of all types will be increasing in price as well as the daily price for lightning lanes. This price increase will also impact the prices of magic keys when they go on sale again.
But before we get into these price increases, you can still lock in the previous ticket prices for a limited time! Now let’s get into what these price increases look like.
All single day ticket prices are increasing with the exception of the lowest, tier 0 ticket option. Here are the new prices:
If you want to add park hoppers to your tickets, that starts at an additional $65 per ticket. As with the single day tickets, park hoppers are all increasing with the exception of the single day option. Here are the new prices:
If you’re planning to visit for more than one day, multi-day tickets are also seeing an increase. Here are the prices you can expect to pay now:
In addition to ticket prices increasing, the price of lighting lane multipass price has also increased to $32. This is a $2 increase from the previous price of $30. This new $32 base price is the lowest price you can get on lightning lane multipass and it is subject to a price increase based on demand. The best way to lock in the lowest price on lightning lane multipass is to add it to your tickets, which you can do here. As far as individual lightning lanes for rides like Rise of the Resistance and Radiator Springs Racers, those must be purchased separately once you are in the parks and those prices will vary by date and demand.
Even Magic Keys are not safe from this latest price increase. All four levels of keys have had their prices raised, here’s what that looks like now:
All of the perks, benefits, blackout dates, etc. will remain the same for all Magic Keys.

Now, let’s get into everything you can expect, what’s included, and everything you need to know about this popular after hours event!
So you’ve probably heard of this party before, but what exactly is it? Oogie Boogie is Disneyland’s big Halloween party that takes place on select nights in September and October. This is a separate ticket event that happens in California Adventure beginning at 6 pm and running until 11 pm, but entry is allowed starting at 3 pm with valid Oogie Boogie tickets. Because you are able to get into California Adventure a few hours before the event, I would recommend doing Oogie Boogie on a day you are not already planning on visiting the parks. I would suggest doing this the day you arrive or doing it on a day you don’t have theme park reservations to maximize your time in the parks while still saving you money.
Oogie Boogie Bash is a limited capacity event so you can enjoy shorter wait times and a more open park during the event. Tickets must be purchased separately as they are not included with your general theme park admission. I will talk dates, prices, and ticket sales dates a little bit later, but just make sure you get those Oogie Boogie tickets purchased separately if you are wanting to attend. If you are not planning to attend this event, I would recommend getting a park hopper pass for the days this event is happening or make your reservations for Disneyland that day where you can still experience lots of fun Halloween Time offerings because all guests not attending Oogie Boogie Bash will be kicked out of California Adventure at 6 PM on event nights.
When you arrive at the gates to enter the park, you will be given a wrist band, a trick or treat bag, and an event map with everything you need to know. If you are already in California Adventure before 3 PM, you don’t have to go all the way back to the entrance to get your wrist band and goodies, you can head over by the entrance of Avenger’s Campus by Grizzly Falls and scan into the event and get everything you need.
This family friendly event has food and beverage offerings, treat trails, dance parties, shows and entertainment, photo ops, shorter wait times for attractions, spooky decor, rare character sightings, and more! Costumes are encouraged, so make sure you pack your best Halloween looks, just make sure you follow the costume guidelines.
You will also receive all Photo Pass photos taken during the event, which is included in your event ticket. Take advantage of all of the photo ops and photo pass photographers throughout the park and download all of the photos captured during the event, free of charge! You can download these photos as many times as you’d like for up to 45 days after they are taken.
This is trick-or-treating at a new level. Each treat trail is themed to fit the villain that will greet you at the end. There are classic villains as well as new villains along these trails and of course, you will leave the treat trails with a bag full of delicious candy. You will be given a trick-or-treat bag when you arrive at the event, but they aren’t big enough for all the candy you will collect, so you will want to bring a large empty bag or backpack to put all your goodies in as cast members will put the candy directly in your bag.

The highlight of Oogie Boogie has to be Villain’s Grove. Redwood Creek is transformed to transport you into the realm of your favorite villains. This fully immerse experience will open as soon as night falls, usually around 7:30ish. This is a very popular experience so the line may get long, but it does tend to move quickly This area comes alive with lights, sounds, and special effects to resemble the worlds of:
This parade exclusively for Oogie Boogie Bash is a fan favorite! See the Headless Horseman, your favorite characters dressed in their Halloween Costumes, beloved characters from Nightmare Before Christmas, the Hitchhiking Ghosts, and of course, all the Disney villains! Because crowds are low, you don’t need to stake out seats super early, but you should try to grab a spot about 20-30 minutes before the parade starts. The route begins in Paradise Gardens near Goofy’s Sky School and ends over in Hollywood Land by the Hyperion Theater. From start to finish, it’s about a 30-40 minute parade. There are two different parade showings, usually at 7:50 and 10:05 so decide which of the shows you’d rather attend.
If you want reserved seating for the Frightfully Fun Parade, check out the Oogie Boogie Dessert Party where you can enjoy treats and beverages while watching the parade from a table. Reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance and are only available two times per night. The cost is $89 per guest and is paid at the time of booking.
You fill find all sorts of characters throughout the park during this event. There were a few photo ops last year in 2023 as well as some non character photo ops as well including:
Guests are allowed, and even encouraged, to wear their best Halloween costumes to Oogie Boogie Bash. Whether your costume is simple or elaborate, this is the only chance you have as an adult to dress up in your Halloween best! While costumes are encouraged, there are a few rules you need to abide by. Here are the guidelines laid out by Disney about costumes during the event:
“Disney reserves the right to deny admission or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests. All Guests may dress as their favorite character during the event, but must follow these guidelines as determined solely by Disney:

Tickets will go on sale in three groups. Here are the dates for sales:
• June 25, 2024- Inspire Key holders ONLY (limited amount of tickets available)
• June 26, 2024- ALL Magic Key holders- ticket sales will close at 11:59 pm pst (limited amount of tickets available)
• June 27, 2024- General Public sales open
The waiting room for Oogie Boogie Bash ticket sales will open at 8:45 am pst and ticket sales will start no earlier than 9 am pst. Guests will have the option to be digitally notified by using the “notify me” option and entering your email. You will then get an email letting you know when it’s your turn to enter the ticket store to purchase your tickets. You will have 10 minutes to complete your purchase and may only purchase 8 ticket per person per event date at a time.
!!! DO NOT purchase Oogie Boogie Bash tickets from any third party seller or website, no matter how legitimate they may seem. The ONLY place to get Oogie Boogie tickets is from the Disneyland website or app. Do not wait to purchase your tickets, these sell out extremely quickly and once they’re gone, they’re gone!
