If you’ve never tried Bengal Barbecue in Adventureland, you are missing out! They have a Jungle Julep that is hands down my favorite treat to get at Disneyland. It’s fruity, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. There’s nothing better than taking a seat in Adventureland and taking in the sights and sounds while sipping on one of these bad boys on a warm California afternoon.
But let’s be honest, many of us don’t get to go to Disney as often as we’d like so not having these yummy treats can be a real downer. So after my last trip, I was determined to recreate one of my absolute favorite Disney treats. For my list of Top 10 Disney treats, click here.

After a lot of trial and error and tons of batches of slush, I finally got it! The perfect copycat Jungle Julep recipe. Now, I can have them anytime I want and I’m going to share the recipe with you so you can too!
When you make this, the brands of juice really don’t matter, I just prefer the taste of 100% dole pineapple juice the most of the ones I tested. You can probably find the grenadine syrup at your local grocery store like I did or you can get it off of Amazon.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
As I experimented with this recipe, I tried using ice to get the slushy texture and it just watered it down too much and I hate when you get a little piece of ice that didn’t get blended. So to avoid that, I decided to freeze half of the juices into their own ice cubes which gave the perfect consistency without watering it down. The approximate 1 1/2 cups of each juice perfectly fills a tray.
When I do it, I always freeze the grape juice, white grape juice, and pineapple juice. I like the consistency of the pineapple juice when it’s frozen.
Once the juices are frozen, dump them into your blender but don’t start blending yet.
Next, add the lemonade. I use original Country Time Lemonade, but any lemonade should be fine, just don’t use light lemonade or it will change the flavor.
Next, add the orange juice and Tang powder. If you don’t want to add the Tang, you could skip it, it just adds some sweetness so if you don’t want it as sweet, you can leave it out.
Last thing is to add the grenadine syrup. This syrup has a super concentrated flavor so a little bit will go a long way.
Once you’ve got everything in the blender, start by pulsing it to break up the ice cubes. Then start blending it up but don’t over-blend it or it will melt. You want the consistency to be like a slushy. You can also add ice cubes if it gets to watery but try to avoid it if you can since it may water it down a bit and change the flavor.
And voila! I give you the Jungle Julep. It will give you 6-8 cups depending on the size of your glasses and you can top them with an orange slice like they do in the park if you’d like. Now all you have to do is sit back and enjoy this delicious, fruity slush while imagining your at Disneyland.
