The Rambling Introvert

Your guide to the world of Disney and beyond

Categories: Disney

Disneyland Resort ticket prices as well as lightning lane multipass and magic keys prices have been increased effective today!

It’s never fun to see prices increase at Disneyland, but it’s inevitable that it will happen every year. And today is that day. Overnight, it was announced that ticket prices of all types will be increasing in price as well as the daily price for lightning lanes. This price increase will also impact the prices of magic keys when they go on sale again.

But before we get into these price increases, you can still lock in the previous ticket prices for a limited time! My travel partners at Get Away Today have inventory at the lower prices that you can take advantage of but once it’s gone, it’s gone! You can get tickets at the lower price here or you can call them at 855-GET-AWAY and tell them The Rambling Introvert sent you to get your hands on these discounted tickets. These tickets are valid for travel anytime in 2025 so if you’re planning on visiting the parks next year, do not wait because these tickets will go fast! You have until October 21, 2024 to lock in these savings!

Now let’s get into what these price increases look like.

Single Day, One Park Per Day Tickets

All single day ticket prices are increasing with the exception of the lowest, tier 0 ticket option. Here are the new prices:

  • Tier 0 – $104 (no change), kids tickets $98 (no increase)
  • Tier 1 – $126 ($7 increase), kids $116 ($4 increase)
  • Tier 2 – $142 ($8 increase), kids $132 ($5 increase)
  • Tier 3 – $164 ($10 increase), kids $154 ($8 increase)
  • Tier 4 – $180 ($11 increase), kids $170 ($10 increase)
  • Tier 5 – $196 ($12 increase), kids $186 ($12 increase)
  • Tier 6 – $206 ($12 increase), kids $196 ($13 increase)

Single Day, Park Hopper Tickets

If you want to add park hoppers to your tickets, that starts at an additional $65 per ticket. As with the single day tickets, park hoppers are all increasing with the exception of the single day option. Here are the new prices:

  • Tier 0 – $169 (no change), kids tickets $163 (no increase)
  • Tier 1 – $191 ($7 increase), kids $181 ($4 increase)
  • Tier 2 – $207 ($8 increase), kids $197 ($5 increase)
  • Tier 3 – $234 ($15 increase), kids $224 ($13 increase)
  • Tier 4 – $250 ($16 increase), kids $240 ($15 increase)
  • Tier 5 – $271 ($22 increase), kids $261 ($22 increase)
  • Tier 6 – $281 ($22 increase), kids $271 ($23 increase)

Multi-Day, One Park Per Day Tickets

If you’re planning to visit for more than one day, multi-day tickets are also seeing an increase. Here are the prices you can expect to pay now:

  • 2 day, one park- $330 ($20 increase), kids $310 ($20 increase)
  • 3 day, one park- $415 ($25 increase), kids $390 ($25 increase)
  • 4 day, one park- $474 ($29 increase), kids $444 ($24 increase)
  • 5 day, one park- $511 ($31 increase), kids $476 ($26 increase)

Multi-Day, Park Hopper Tickets

  • 2 day, park hopper- $415 ($40 increase), kids $395 ($40 increase)
  • 3 day, park hopper- $505 ($45 increase), kids $480 ($45 increase)
  • 4 day, park hopper- $569 ($54 increase), kids $539 ($49 increase)
  • 5 day, park hopper- $616 ($61 increase), kids $581 ($56 increase)

Lightning Lane Multipass

In addition to ticket prices increasing, the price of lighting lane multipass price has also increased to $32. This is a $2 increase from the previous price of $30. This new $32 base price is the lowest price you can get on lightning lane multipass and it is subject to a price increase based on demand. The best way to lock in the lowest price on lightning lane multipass is to add it to your tickets, which you can do here. As far as individual lightning lanes for rides like Rise of the Resistance and Radiator Springs Racers, those must be purchased separately once you are in the parks and those prices will vary by date and demand.

Magic Key Price Increases

Even Magic Keys are not safe from this latest price increase. All four levels of keys have had their prices raised, here’s what that looks like now:

  • Imagine Key now $599 ($100 increase)
  • Enchant Key now $974 ($125 increase)
  • Believe Key now $1374 ($125 increase)
  • Inspire Key now $1749 ($100 increase)

All of the perks, benefits, blackout dates, etc. will remain the same for all Magic Keys.

Parking Costs

For now, parking costs look to remain the same. Here is the pricing for parking at the Disneyland Resort:

  • General Parking $35
  • Preferred Parking $55
  • Hotel Valet Parking $70
  • Hotel Guest Self Park $40
  • Non-hotel Guest Self Park $40 for the first hour then $10 for each additional hour ($80 max)

Remember, these price increases are effective immediately, but you don’t have to pay full price! You can get your tickets at the previous pricing through my travel partners at Get Away Today. You can get those discounted tickets here until October 21!

The parks have been packed, and lightning lane multipass may be a huge help IF you know how to use it effectively. Here are some must know tips to help you get the most use you can out of your lightning lane multipass:

1️⃣ BOOK EARLY
You can make your first lightning lane selection as soon as you scan into the park, so book your first lightning lane immediately to start the click on when you can make your next selection.

2️⃣ MODIFY RETURN TIMES
Did you know you can modify your return times? That’s why I recommend booking your first lightning lane ASAP and then modifying your return time to be later in the day. DONT use your Lightning lanes when waiting times are lower, modify them and push them back to stack for the busier times in the day. Also, you can do this if your return time is later in the day, keep checking for a sooner return time.

3️⃣ STACK YOUR LIGHTNING LANES
Book as many Lightning lanes as you can for later in the day when the parks are busier and/or modify your return times so you get the most use out of your Lightning lanes. You don’t want to use Lightning lanes when lines are short, so push them out until later. You can hold multiple Lightning lane return times at once, you just have to follow the rules for how to book them.

4️⃣ BOOK POPULAR RIDES FIRST
Each park has certain rides that get booked out first. In Disneyland, those are Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. In DCA, they are Guardians, Midway Mania, and Incredicoaster or Goofy’s Sky School.

5️⃣ PRIORITIZE YOUR MUST DO’S
If you have certain attractions that are musts, make sure you reserve those early so they don’t run out of return times.

6️⃣ STAY ON TOP OF BOOKING
Once you reserve a return time, you can make a new one once you use the most recent reservation you made OR once it has been 2 hours. If you have to wait the 2 hours set an alarm for when you can make your next one or check the app and it will tell you what time you can reserve again.

Down here ↴ Going to Disney with kids can have Down here ↴

Going to Disney with kids can have its challenges at times, but doing these 7 things have made our family trips so much better:

1️⃣ MEASURE THEM AHEAD OF TIME
Make sure you know which rides they can and cannot ride BEFORE you get to the parks. Nothing is more heartbreaking than watching a kid have their heart set on a ride that they aren’t tall enough to go on and being turned away. Know how tall they are, look up which rides they are tall enough for, and don’t try to cheat the system.
2️⃣ GIVE THEM SPENDING MONEY
Disney has so many fun and appealing things that kids will want, and that can lead to tears if they can’t get things. We purchase gift cards for each kid with a set amount of money they can spend however they want. Once the money is gone, it’s gone.
3️⃣ PREP EVERYTHING THE NIGHT BEFORE
Get EVERYTHING ready the night before. Fill up water bottles, pack the backpack with snacks, toys, etc., charge all electronics, and lay out everyone’s clothes for the morning. This will save so much time and stress in the mornings!
4️⃣ LET THEM PICK SOME MUST DO’S
Sit down with them and let them pick some items that they really want to do. Rides, characters, shows, snacks. This lets them feel like they have some say and freedom to do what is important to them.
5️⃣ LOOK AT MENUS AHEAD OF TIME
Scout out spots to eat before you go. Look at the menus, see if they have things your kids will eat or options they want to try. This will make it easier to narrow down where you eat and not waste time in the parks trying to find an option that they like.
6️⃣ PACK SOME THINGS FOR THEM
Take toys, snacks, water, etc. for the lines so they have something to keep them busy, snacks in case they get hungry, etc. Some of our favorite things to take are water wow books, seek and find cards, and seek and find sensory toys.
7️⃣ MAKE TIME FOR PLAY
Kids need to be kids, so plan time for them to run and play freely and take a break from those lines. Toontown, Tom Sawyer Island, and the Redwood Creek Challenge trail are great spots for kids to burn off some energy!

Anxiety can be brutal while at Disneyland, whether Anxiety can be brutal while at Disneyland, whether you have chronic anxiety, get overstimulated, or whatever it is, you can still have a great trip. Here are some tips I’d recommend to help:

1️⃣ Find a quiet place
- If you find yourself feeling anxious, try to find a quieter spot to take a little bit to relax. I’d recommend checking out are Great Moments with Mr Lincoln, the Main Street Cinema, Tom Sawyer Island, the back corner of Toontown, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, the Sorcerer’s Workshop in the Animation Building, and the Grand Californian Hotel lobby.
2️⃣ Grab a healthy snack
- From personal experience, making sure I still get healthy foods into my diet greatly helps my mood and mental state. I love Tropical Imports across from the Jungle cruise, but there are also various fruit stands around the parks
3️⃣ Use the Main Street vehicles
- Main Street can get crazy busy, if you don’t want to weave through the crowds, try taking a Main Street vehicle to get away from those crowds
4️⃣ Have a table service meal
- One of my favorite strategies, being able to sit and enjoy a meal for 45ish minutes without having to wait in line for food or stake out tables and rest my feet is a game changer!
5️⃣ Take a drawing class
- Animation Academy does drawing classes that are a great way to rest and chill for a bit, plus they’re a fun experience and if you’re like me, drawing is very calming
6️⃣ Take a midday break
- If you’re feeling anxious, or just overstimulated, sometimes a mid day break is just what you need to reset. Head back to your hotel, take a nap, go for a swim, whatever you need to do!
7️⃣ Rope drop or close the parks
- Crowds are significantly lower the first few hours of the day, as well as into the later evening hours so if crowds make you anxious, use these times!
8️⃣ Have a plan, but don’t overplan
- Don’t try to wing your trip, but also don’t schedule it so rigidly that you are constantly running around and stressing to get everything done. Prioritize your must do’s, be flexible, and allow for some freedom so you don’t go crazy!

RUN and try this freshly made treat at Disneyland! RUN and try this freshly made treat at Disneyland! 🏃🏽‍♀️‍➡️

Nuttles are delicious drops of fresh caramel with pecans on one side and melted milk chocolate on the other. They’re indulgent and delicious and come in a pack of around 10-12 so they’re easily shareable with your whole group!

But these aren’t made everyday, usually only two or three days a week, so check the confectionary windows to see if they’re making them that day or ask a cast member at the counter. I’ve heard many people having good luck getting them on Mondays and Wednesday’s, I was able to get mine on a Monday, but that schedule can always vary. You’ll find them at the back of the candy palace, past the candy cases, where you can find all the prepackaged candies, they’re usually on the top shelf in the corner spots on the end on the display with all the toffee.
