If you have never been to Disneyland before or you haven’t been in a while, it’s hard to know what hotel to stay at and how good it will actually be. I spend so much time booking a hotel for my trips because where I stay is really important to me. I want somewhere close to the park, clean, but still affordable. The one thing that has made it all easier for me is booking through Get Away Today. They list all of the hotels you can stay at and you can include your Disneyland tickets in the price. I have used their company every single time I have gone to Disney and it is so nice!
If you are planning a trip to Disney, go to Get Away Today’s website and take the hassle out of planning your vacation. At checkout, enter code INTROVERT for $10 off your package!

Now back to hotel reviews. I have stayed at three different hotels in the last few years and I’m going tell you the pros and cons of each. Each of these hotels can be selected through Get Away Today’s website but are subject to availability so I recommend booking your stay early. The prices below are based on June 3-6, 2019 and include a one-room 4 night hotel stay, 3 day park-hopper ticket to Disneyland. (Keep in mind prices fluctuate based on what time of year you go)
Clarion Hotel
When my husband and I went on our honeymoon, this is where we stayed. We were newlyweds with no money so we were looking for something cheap and close to the park. This hotel is on the cheaper end of many of the hotels in the area, but it’s not the cheapest of them all. We stayed 4 nights and got 3 day park-hopper tickets to Disneyland. If I were to purchase this package for the week listed above, the total would be around $525 per person. Now let me break this hotel down:
Pros
✦ This hotel is pretty inexpensive. There aren’t very many hotels in the area that are cheaper than this one.
✦ It is within walking distance to the park. It is about 1/2 mile away and is located right on Harbor Blvd which goes right to the entrance to the parks.
✦ Your stay includes a free breakfast which will save you money in the park.
✦ Free parking at the hotel
✦ They have a shuttle available for a small fee.
✦ The rooms are decent. They aren’t amazing, but they are okay. If you don’t care about having a super nice room, this will work just fine.
✦ There is a shower/tub combo in the bathroom. If you have little kids, that is a huge plus!
✦ Other amenities like in-room wifi and an in-room mini fridge.
Cons
✦ The dining area isn’t very big so it’s hard to find a place to eat, especially if you have a larger family.
✦ The food isn’t anything special. Because it’s free you can’t really complain, but honestly some mornings we didn’t eat breakfast because we’d rather eat in the park.
✦ Like I said in the pros, the rooms are decent. If you are wanting a nicer, new hotel you will want to look elsewhere.
✦ The bathroom is pretty small, so if you have a lot of people that need to get in there, that will be difficult.
✦ Also listed as a pro is that it’s about 1/2 mile from the park. That can also be a negative because by the end of your trip you will be sick of walking 15+ minutes to and from the park with all the crowds. You also have to wake up earlier or go to bed later if you want to maximize your time in the park so you can walk.
✦ To me, the room seemed a little dark and dingy because it is an older hotel so it seems kind of dated.
✦ They had a problem with our reservation and gave us two twin beds instead of one queen bed so we had to go through the whole process to fix it before we checked in.

Hyatt Place at Anaheim Resort
We stayed at this hotel when we went with my parents and brother to Disneyland so we had five people this time. We decided to save money, we would stay in one room to, which worked out with this hotel. This hotel is nice but it is further away from the park so it’s more walking distance. Even though it’s further away, I would recommend this hotel over the Clarion if you aren’t concerned about the extra money. For the first week in June, if you were to book one room for 4 nights and 3 day park hopper tickets, it would be about $740 per person.
Pros
✦ The rooms are a good size. We slept five adults and we didn’t feel too crammed. It had two queens and one sofa bed (which was actually a really good size) and was very clean.
✦ There are drink dispensers right as you walk into the lobby that have ice cold water (some with lemon) and cups so you can get a nice refreshing drink after a long day.
✦ Shuttle available for a small fee.
✦ Full breakfast included in your stay and their food is actually really good. It changes everyday so you get a variety of options during your stay rather than the same thing every single day.
✦ The dining area is much larger here than at the Clarion so you can find seats more easily and fit more people together.
✦ In-room internet and in-room mini fridge.
✦ This one also has a shower/tub combo which like I said is great if you have kids.
✦ This bathroom is larger and brighter than at the Clarion and it just feels cleaner.
✦ Newer, more modern hotel than the Clarion.
✦ There is a mirror in the main room so more people can get ready at once instead of trying to pack everyone in the bathroom at once.
✦ They have a small case right at the check in desk where you can buy drinks and some small snacks, which was awesome if you were hungry after walking home from the parks!
Cons
✦ This hotel is almost a mile away from the park so you can walk to the park but by the end of your trip, your feet will hurt. We walked and it was okay, but man did we feel it by the end!
✦ It is a little more expensive than some other options, so if you are really on a budget you may not want to stay here.
✦ If you have a larger family, the room might feel a little crammed depending on what you’re used to. We were fine with five adults but that may be different with little kids running around.
✦ If anyone in your family snores, you cannot escape it! My life the ENTIRE trip! (but that’s okay)
✦ The door to the bathroom is like a frosted glass so if anyone is up late or early in the morning with the light on in the bathroom, it is really bright!
✦ It’s all one room so there isn’t much privacy except in the bathroom so you have to stagger bathroom times.

The Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort Convention Center
The last two times I have gone to Disney, this is where I have stayed. And this is where I will always try to stay! My family and I LOVE it! I stayed with my husband, parents, and brother the first time (again, to save money) and the second trip it was just my husband and I. I have been there with 5 people and with only 2 and it works for both group sizes. This hotel is more expensive, but to me it is SO worth it! For the same week in June for 4 nights, 3 day park-hopper tickets, this hotel costs about $890 per person. I can easily say that this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at.
Here is a preview of our hotel room that I shot really quick when we arrived:

Pros
✦ The rooms are huge! They have a kitchen, living area, and a separate bedroom with beds and a large bathroom. There is a sliding door between the living room and bedroom so you can close off a room if you have someone sleeping. With five people we easily fit very comfortable. Two of us were in each queen in the bedroom (there’s two) and then one on the sofa couch in the other room.
✦ There is more privacy because of the split rooms so getting ready is much faster.
✦ Full in-room kitchen with a fridge, microwave, stove, coffee maker, sink, silverware, etc. Super nice if you want to eat in the room or have kids!
✦ Huge TV’s in the living room and bedroom.
✦ In-room WiFi and super comfy beds.
✦ When my husband and I stayed for our anniversary, they gave us a gift basket full of treats for our stay.
✦ Awesome breakfast with tons of options! The kitchen is huge and like the Hyatt Place, it changes daily so you can get a variety but there are always things like cereal, yogurt, and make it yourself waffles.
✦ There is a lot of seating in the dining area so you can usually find somewhere to eat without a problem.
✦ There is a separate bar area for adults as you walk into the lobby if you’d like to grab a drink.
✦ There is an entire market by the register with tons of food options. They have candy, drinks, some microwavable food, ice cream, etc.
✦ It is right next door to CVS, so if you have to go to the store, you don’t have to walk far.
✦ It is only a block away from the park. The back side of California Adventure is across the street. You can see the back wall of Radiator Springs Racers from the hotel.
✦ There is a pool, splash pad, hot tubs, and fire pits on the roof! It is so nice to relax out there after a long day at the park or after just arriving at the park. It’s also great for kids!
✦ If you have kids, you can upgrade to a room that has a second bedroom with bunk beds for kids and a second bathroom so you have even more space.
✦ New, clean hotel that was just built in the last few years. It is one of the newest hotels in the area.
Cons
✦ Because it is new and has so many great things, it is more expensive. If you are on a tight budget, definitely don’t stay here.
✦ There is no tub in the bathroom, it is just a shower, so if you have little kids that may be a problem. I have never stayed in a room with the second bathroom so that one may have a tub, you would just have to check the details when you book your stay.
✦ This is a pretty large hotel and can be pretty busy. You will want to get up early to beat the breakfast rush or it will put you back. You also want to beat the crowds that will be walking to the park.

Of the three hotels, I would definitely recommend the Residence Inn at Anaheim Resort Convention Center first. Then I would stay at the Hyatt Place and I would chose the Clarion Hotel last. If you have any questions, please reach out to me and I will do what I can to help you out! Hopefully this helps make booking your trip a little easier!
P.S. I have never stayed at a Disney hotel, but I have already booked my stay at the Disneyland Hotel for my upcoming trip to Disneyland in November! Stay tuned for an entire post about that!!
