Recently I was able to visit various hotels in the Garden Grove area near Disneyland, and my favorite was easily the Hyatt Regency Orange County. This hotel is absolutely amazing, the lobby is incredible, the rooms are large and comfortable, and there are so many extras in this hotel that make it the perfect place to stay on your next Disney vacation. Honestly, I had never considered this hotel prior to my visit because it wasn’t super close to the parks, but my mind has definitely been changed now that I have experienced this hotel for myself. Let me tell you all about my visit and what you can expect from this hotel.

Hotel Overview

The Hyatt Orange County is a beautiful 653-room hotel that is perfect for families visiting Disneyland. This deluxe hotel is located 1.4 miles away from the Disneyland resort in the Garden Grove area at an amazing price. They have multiple on site restaurants, two pools, fitness center, and so many options for entertainment. This hotel is non smoking, pet friendly, offers free wifi, and you can use your phone as your room key. Breakfast is available but is not complimentary, but children receive breakfast for half off if accompanied by a paying adult. They also offer laundry and dry cleaning services.

Rooms

The Hyatt Orange County offers several room types from double queens to kings, standard rooms or suites, you’re sure to find the perfect room to fit your families needs. Some of the rooms in the hotel are newly renovated deluxe rooms to look like the photos below and some, non deluxe rooms, have not been renovated yet, but they are all clean and spacious.

All standard rooms come with:

• 65” flat-screen TV with Pay Per View movies
• Oversized workstation
• Pharmacopia bath amenities
• Iron and ironing board
• Hair dryer
• Coffeemaker
• In-room safe
• Minifridge

All suites come with the same amenities as the standard room but also include a microwave and a sleeper sofa. There is also the option for adjoining rooms and suites with multiple rooms so kids can stay in one room and the parents can stay in the other, giving you plenty of space to spread out after a day in the parks

This hotel is jam packed with amenities you can expect from your stay here, including:

Location

This hotel isn’t as close to the parks as many of the other hotels in the Anaheim area, so I think many people don’t consider it when they’re planning their trip, which includes me. It is about 1.4 miles away from which is a bit too far to walk, but the nice thing about the Hyatt Orange County is that they have their own shuttle that guests can use. It begins running 15 minutes before park opening and runs for an hour after park close, and picks up at the hotel every 30 minutes. The shuttle is not included with your stay, it is an additional fee of $6 per adult and $3 per child per day and picks up right in front of the hotel. You could also use Uber/Lyft to get to the parks. The nice thing about the location is that even though it’s a little far away from the park, you get a lot more bang for your buck than you would staying at a hotel right across from the parks, so you’re getting a deluxe hotel at a cheaper price.

Review of the Hotel

I really enjoyed this hotel. I love how beautiful and spacious it is. The lobby is incredible and I love how many things there are to offer within the hotel. I was able to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the on site restaurants, TusCA, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried. The dining space is beautiful and the food was amazing, I would definitely eat there again. I wasn’t able to try their other sit down restaurant, but it also looked like a great spot to grab something to eat.

Along with all the restaurants, I know having a Starbucks in the lobby is a huge perk for many people, and the idea of having a Disney gift shop and an arcade in the lobby is also a really fun touch, if you’re traveling with kids that would be a huge perk. The two pools are awesome and they do have an hour at night that is adult only swim so you can relax at the pool without kids running everywhere. I love that you can take yoga classes or do personal training sessions at the hotel is also a fun perk I haven’t seen at many other hotels.

I loved the rooms and how spacious they are. They are all clean and well maintained, and having a view of the lobby is a really cool feature that most hotels don’t have. This hotel is perfect if you are traveling alone, as a couple, as a girls group, or as a family. They have so many room options that can accommodate any needs you may have for your trip. I thoroughly enjoyed touring this hotel and look forward to staying here soon, it is at the top of my list of places to stay in the future.
