2022 Disneyland Crowd Calendar

There are a lot of things to consider when you are planning a trip to Disney, but one of the biggest factors is how busy the parks are going to be. While you can’t completely know if it’ll be busy during your trip of not, you can get an idea of what to expect by looking at previous years crowd patterns, off season times, major events, and more. But nobody has the time to look at all of those things when they’re trying to plan a trip to Disneyland.

So to make your life easier, I have created a crowd calendar to help you more easily decide when to visit the parks! Not only have I predicted crowds for all of 2022 for you, I have also included major events in the parks that you may want to be aware of. To most accurately represent crowd levels, I have color coded days to make it even easier for you to see how crowd levels will differ. The darker green days are your best bet for the lowest crowds. The light green indicates light crowds and yellow is what you would expect on an average crowd day. The light orange means moderate crowds, but still manageable. The orangish red indicates heavy crowds, and red… well, I would avoid those days if you can! Now that you’ve got the basic breakdown, let’s take a look at the month by month breakdown!

Best Spots to Escape the Crowds at Disneyland

Everyone knows that going to Disney means being around a lot of people pretty much all the time. Gone are the days of empty parks and walk on lines, so you need to be prepared for crowds. But sometimes you just need a few minutes to get away from the crowds and take a breather, whether it’s because you have a sleeping child, need a spot to nurse a baby, somewhere to rest your feet, or just need to get away from people for a minute. It may seem impossible to escape the crowds but there are a few places in the parks you can go that typically have little to no crowds most of the time.

As someone who struggles with anxiety especially in larger crowds, I’ve had to find the tried and true spots to get some space. I’ve also discovered some great spots to take your kids when they just need some space to get the wiggles out from taking my daughter to Disneyland. So I’m going to share with you my favorite places to escape from the crowds in the parks.

Disneyland’s Blue Bayou Restaurant Review

Blue Bayou is one of the most popular restaurants at the Disneyland Resort and there is a reason for that. The atmosphere is incredible, the food is good, and it really is an experience you cannot afford to miss. In my opinion everyone needs to eat here at least once in their life. Whether you are looking for a romantic dinner for two, dinner for a group of adults, or even dinner as a family, it works for every situation!

Blue Bayou is hands down my favorite restaurant I have ever been to, not just my favorite Disney restaurant. I first tried this restaurant on my honeymoon and I have made sure to eat here on every trip since then. It’s our family tradition! Even though I have had dinner here multiple times, I still can’t wait to go every trip and I’m going to tell you why!

Disneyland’s Quick Service Restaurants Review

When you’re planning a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, there are more things to consider than just what ride you’re going to jump on next. You also need to think about where you are going to eat that is going to be yummy but also quick so you can fit in all the things you want to do!

The beauty about Disneyland is that they have so many quick-service restaurants where you can grab a quick bite to eat that is delicious but will also fill you up. They’ve got everything from pizza to burgers to mexican and cajun food. But with so many options, it can be a little overwhelming when you’re trying to decide where would be the best place to eat.

So to make your trip easier and to help save you valuable time in the parks, I have compiled a list of all of the quick-service restaurants I’ve tried, what options I would recommend getting, and which restaurants I would maybe avoid. So let’s get started!

Copycat Jolly Holiday Tomato Basil Soup and Grilled Cheese Sandwich

If you know me, you know how much I love Jolly Holiday at Disneyland. This cute little restaurant has the best location by the castle, the most delicious treats and one of my absolute favorite meals in the entire park: the Jolly Holiday Combo.

If you haven’t tried this combo, it’s an absolute must! The perfectly toasted grilled cheese sandwich and the warm tomato basil soup to dip it in is one of my favorite quick meals to grab in the parks.

I’ve been missing Disney so much lately and the weather where I live has been grey and stormy lately which it put me on the mood for a nice grilled cheese sandwich and soup. So, I went to work to recreate the Jolly Holiday combo and now that I’ve got it just right, I’m going to share it with you!

Copycat Mickey Gingerbread Man Cookies

If you have visited Disneyland during the holiday months, then you know how many delicious seasonal treats they have to offer. But the star of the holidays in the parks is the most perfect treat to ever exist. The Mickey gingerbread man cookie.

This cookie is not only adorable but absolute gingerbread perfection. Perfectly baked so it was still soft and having just the right amount of spice, this seasonal treat is every gingerbread lovers dream. They were so popular that they sell out almost daily and when I was trying to get one, I had to visit Jolly Holiday 3 different times to finally get my hands on one but it was definitely worth the wait!


Now if you don’t get to visit the parks very often or don’t have a holiday trip planned, you may miss this delicious goodie. But I have recreated these delicious cookies so you can make them right I your own kitchen! So let’s get to it!

DIY Haunted Mansion Tombstones

Walking the queue of the Haunted Mansion is one of my favorite spots in the parks. The attention to detail of every aspect of that ride inside and out is just amazing. Now at Disneyland they have the stacked crypts but at Walt Disney World they have the iconic individual tombstones across the Haunted Mansion grounds. So I wanted to recreate those iconic tombstones for my own yard to display for Halloween!

Now I have to say this may be my favorite spooky season DIY yet! This project wasn’t hard but it did take a lot more time and effort to complete. With that being said, I absolutely love having these in my yard for Halloween. So let’s get going and I’ll walk you through how to make your own!
